Beltane First, go give cornflake1 a pat on the back. She just got in at the University she wanted so badly. ((HUGS)) Today was such a wonderful day. Got up at four in the AM and made a huge, I'm talking HUGE pot of Antipasta. It's my Mother-in-laws recipe that I asked her to make for my reception (And she did). It turned out so great! I then made a Sunrise breakfast for me and the kids. Honey cornbread, potatoes O'Brian and scrambled eggs with lots of butter and honey and jelly. (Relax, guys. It was all sugar free.) 'Course, the Beltane cake wasn't sugar free. But it was sooo good. Right after breakfast I made a Cranberry-orange cake with strawberry frosting garnished with real strawberries. Then told the kids they couldn't have any till after I got home from work! Went to work and had a blast with all the customers (ignoring the recently put-in-her-place Droopy). Originally, we were going to have a bonfire tonight, but the recent torrential amounts of rain, hail and tornadoes got all the stacked firewood drenched, negating the joyous occurance. Hence when I got home from work, The Sibling had gone to the store and got one of those chemical logs and we got it going in the BBQ grill under the carport. We had cake and homemade May Wine (Used up the last of the strawberries and Sangria.....tattodnanny, it wasn't dry but it was good!) No, of course we couldn't have traditional Beltane activities, being the participants were me, the kids and my Sibling; but we had a good time around the last minute "bonfire". We offered up some roses and Gerbera Daisies that had bloomed so well and survived the last two days weather. I am now pleasantly tipsy and need to go to bed. Blessed May Day, ya'll!
