One, Two, Freddy's Coming for You!

In my youth, pajama parties were celebrated one of two ways, depending on who was having the under dressed shindig.

One: Almost like a camping adventure in the living room with the parents staying in their bedroom. It would start with the turning out of all the lights, gathering together all the munchies (which often times DID include s'mores), and settling down in front of the TV/VCR.

We, of course, had already rented (or the parents did) all the scary videos that were to be watched that night. (Jason, Freddy, Micheal, ect....) It had to be a series and we had to get at least three out of how many ever there were. (This would be the scarey ghost telling phase.)

Then we would spend the rest of the night with the lights out trying to scare the crap out of each other. (Usually about 3 in the AM, the parents would come out and yell at us to GO TO SLEEP!!)

Two: The rock and roll party all night long adventure. This one is pretty self explanatory. Loud music (everyone brought their favorite records - yes, it was still records and not CDs then..) lots of munchies and girls screaming at the top of their lungs and trying to pass it off as singing.

So for tonights festivities (being the only one to attend) I chose the camping trip adventure. Got the young 'uns to bed, got in my two piece, light green with purple flowers baby doll nightie, and settled my butt on the couch to watch Freddy. (there's just something about a man who delights in sharp instruments of pain and loves a good mind fuck!) Let me tell you, Johnny Depp sure has grown up since "Nightmare on Elm Street"! I'd forgotten how innocent he looked back then. Sure is a long way from that to Captain Jack. My favorite line in this movie? Where Depp is in his room right after the girl calls him and tells him to meet her on her front porch at midnight and he hangs up the phone and says, "Yeah, midnight. Baseball bats and Boogymen."

Speaking of Freddy, Freddy Vs. Jason is playing Friday night at the next little Goddess Forsaken Town over, and The Bear and I are going! Yes!!! Freddy is gonna kick Jason's ass!!

Well, I ate the munchies, drank the wine coolers (Melon) and sat messmerized by Freddy with Mini Snape nestled on my lap. (I think he found Freddy a little tame for his tastes.) Since I'm no longer 15 and I have to get up at the crack of dawn, I'm gonna close this entry. Enjoy the virtual pajama party girls/guys!
